In Brief

Points will be allocated according to the following principles.

• The overall points score will run throughout the calendar year, with final rankings determined after the last race in December.
• Only club racing will count. Open events will not be included in the points tally
• Getting a particular place in a higher grade gets more points than getting the same place in a lower grade. Points allocations are as given below in Table I.
• Placings will be determined for individuals in the first five. Where it is not practicable for the judge to separate the placings lower than fifth, those riders will be given the placing of the first rider in the group that they finish with. If the Judge considers that a rider is apart from a group they may give that rider their individual place.
• All decisions on placing are at the discretion of the Judges.
• A rider changing grades will take all their accumulated points with them.
• Riders will be ranked across all grades according to their accumulated points.
• Points allocations for Wednesday night criteriums be as given in Table II and are effectively half the points for a road scratch race. Extra points will be awarded for the winners of sprint laps.

While the morning dawned extremely cold, things quickly warmed up for the running of the Mareeba Rodeo Association Handicap. Five groups set out, with the back markers twelve minutes behind the front.
