| Summer Series Road Race 4 |
|
Quite a pleasant morning greeted riders, with no sign of the rain that had made the course impassable at times the day before. The out leg saw the field stay pretty much together until just before the turn around. Oliver Wacek was the first to feel the affects of too few miles in the legs, but was soon followed by a number of others.
The return leg saw the front group dwindle, as one by one riders dropped away. In the end a group of six remained, comprising Matt Orchard, Tim Jackson, Mick Mehonoshen, Jon Standage, Steve Petre, and James Tee.
The sprint saw Mick take the line first, followed by Steve Petre, Jon Standage and Tim Jackson. James Tee showed form better than he had before he was injured racing mountain bikes last year, to stay with the front group and finish fifth.
The next Summer Series is scheduled for 14 February on the Yarrabah Course. Race start at 7:30am.
This will be the last Summer Series race, with the Road Season scheduled to commence on 28 February.
